Abstract: According to the studies on soil structure characteristics of rehabilitated forest in 7 different models in 1991 in Taihe county of Jiangxi province, the results show that:(1)the rehabilitated forest in different models has on obvious effect on soil aggregate structure at the depth of 0~40 cm.The soil aggregate structure of pure broadleaf forest model is the best, that of mixed coniferous and broadleaf forest model comes second, that of pure coniferous is the worst.(2)the rehabilitated forest has some effects on soil pore state. The state of Liquidambar formosana and Pinus elliottii mixed forest model is the best, that of pure Pinus elliottii forest model is the worst.(3)the order of the stability of soil structure of rehabilitated forest is:pure Schima superba forest model>pure Liquidambar formosana forest model>the model of Liquidambar formosana and P.massoniana mixed forest in inter>the model of Liquidambar formosana and P.elliottii mixed forest in line>the model of pure P.serotina Michx forest in middle planting density>the model of pure P.elliottii forest>the model of pure P.serotina Michx forest in high planting density. The good models which can improve the soil structure in 10 years on severely degraded red soil are pure broadleaf forest models.
