Abstract
One year old seedlings of Ginkgo biloba L. were grown in a pot under greenhouse conditions with varying soil water levels to study the effects of soil water contents on uptake and allocation of nutrient elements. Four soil water levels (80% (W1), 60% (W2), 40% (W3) and 20% (W4) of field capacity) were employed, and the time of treatment was 100 clays. The results were as follows: (1) There existed signifieant effects for soil water contents on nutrition element concentration of the Ginkgo leaf, root and stem. Total N concentration of stem and leaf, total Ca and K concentration of leaf, total Cu concentration of root and total P of stem, root and leaf increased at the very beginning of the experiment, then decreased (W3 and W4) with decreasing of soil water content, However, total Ca concentration of stem and root, total Cu concentration of stem and total Mg, Mn and Zn concentration of root and leaf increased with decreasing of soil water content, but total Cu concentration of leaf and total K concentration o[ stem and root decreased. (2) The order of total N, P, Ca, and Mg concentration of root, stem and leaf from high to low was c(leaf)>c(stem)>c(root), and the order of total Cu concentration was c(root)>c(leaf)>c(stem), and the order of total Mn concentration was c(stem)>c(leaf)>c(root), and the order of total Zn concentration was c(stem)>c(root)>c(leaf). (3) The correlative analysis among nutrients elements showed some of nutrient elements had a significant positive or negative relativity.
