Abstract: The environmental effects of ecological landscape afforestation pattern along the Grand Canal in Yangzhou were studied. The results showed that the noise and the dust of the tested patterns were the most significantly or significantly different. The effect of noise decreasing and stagnant dust from the big to small ordinal (the order of both is the same) : the afforestation pattern community, the lawn in the patterns, and the control(the hard lanes nearby the pattern community). The noise of the ecological environmental pattern community, the ecological healthy community and the ecological landscape community were decreasing by 12.63%~20.20%,9.22%~14.59% and 8.86%~9.17% compared with the noise of the control respectively, while the quantity of the dust in the air were decreasing by 63.65%, 55.00% and 54.68% compared with the one of the control; and the quantity of the stagnant dust were decreasing by 36.40~,19.19% and 5. 12%, compared with the one of lawn. The community of the city flower of Yangzhou Viburnum macrocephalum also showed the noise decreasing effect. The noises were decreased by 14.13% and 4. 00% respectively compared with the ones of the control (the hard lane) and the lawn in patterns. The research results provided scientific data for the city forest ecological network system construction.
