Parameter identification of woodbamboo composites used as the busplatform using EMA theory

Abstract: A newly woodbamboo composite material was used as the busplatform. Modal parameter was identified using the Experiment Model Analysis (EMA). The modal parameter (the natural frequency and damping ratio ) of woodbamboo composites used as the busplatform were analyzed by means of impulse excitation as well as the technique of signal processing. According to the impulse response function and real frequency/imaginary frequency figure under free end bearing and cantilever beam condition. The results showed that for the same species, the natural frequency under free end bearing condition was smaller 2% than that under cantilever beam condition. For the same supporting, the transverse natural frequency was smaller than the lengthways natural frequency .This provided a basis in dynamic design and modification. Furthermore, this simple and effective approach could also be used as a reference for any test of the dynamic characteristic at lowmodes vibration.
