Abstract

The static compressive experiments of 150 mm×450 mm、200 mm×600 mm,250 mm×750 mm reinforced concrete columns reinforced by basalt fiber reinforce plastic (BFRP) sheet were conducted by 5 000 kN hydraulic testing machine. The results showed that restriction using BFRP sheets could increase the bearing and deformation ability of the reinforced concrete column and the limited stress increased of 847 %, 859 % and 8828 % respectively. The sizeeffect of bearing exists for different dimension specimens. Based on the FRP strength model, the strength model of reinforced concrete column restricted by BFRP was established by modifying the parameter.
