Abstract: Bamboo leaf rust disease is a severe bamboo disease, which affect the growth of bamboo. In order to biologically control this disease with hyperparasite Acremonium salmoneum, the culture condition of hyperparasite A. salmoneum were studied. The results showed that the optimal culture medium of A. salmoneum was ZPD culture medium. The best carbon and nitrogen sources were mannitol and KNO3, respectively. The mycelium can grow under a temperature ranged from 8 to 30 ℃ and under pH from 4 to 6, the optimum condition were 25 ℃ and pH 5.0 respectively.Illumination affects little to the growth of mycelium. The best temperature and pH for conidial germination were 28 ℃ and 5-6, respectively. The spore germination rate was the highest when A. salmoneum cultured in free water.
