Abstract: In this study, the willow shrub plantations with different harvest rotation were selected to investigate the growth status and the wicker production and quality, thus the effects of harvest rotation were evaluated in the low land along Huaihe riverside. The results indicated that no significant differences were found in leaf area index(LAI), average diameter and length of wicker and biomass among the plantations of the rotation 0 to rotation 4. The plantation of rotation 1 presented lower uniformity degree as compared with other rotations, and 44% of the wicker were classified as fine and weak category(D<0.4 cm). On the contrary, the plantation of rotation 4 showed high uniformity degree, however the number of wicker was 20% lower than those of rotation 0 to rotation 2. Moreover, the proportion of the thick wickers with D>0.8 cm was higher than those of other rotations. Therefore, a plan of two-harvest per year was suggested to enhance the wicker production with high quality.
