Abstract: In situ experiments combined with venting method were conducted to study the characteristics of soil ammonia volatilization in two kinds of interplanting systems of poplar and wheat and wheat monocropping system under different N fertilization amount. The results showed that there was no significant difference among the three systems for the changes of ammonia volatilization application of fertilizer. 60%-83% of ammonia volatilization occurred mainly in 6-7 days after fertilization in all treatments both at basic fertilizer period and top dressing period. Ammonia volatilization rate and the accumulation of ammonia volatilization of interplanting system were less than that of wheat monocropping system in different degrees. In the whole growth period, the accumulation of ammonia volatiliation of I1(2 m×5 m)and I2(2 m×15 m)interplanting systems were separately 0.76-4.23 kg/hm2, 2.13-4.16 kg/hm2less than that of wheat monocropping system.
