Abstract: The two varieties of Hyacinthus ‘Blue Jacket’ and ‘Jan Bos’ were used as materials and treated by 10,20,50,100,200 mg/L SA solution when their flower buds appeared in water culture. The results were as follows:20 mg/L SA was the best concentration for florescence, floret diameter, leaf length and leaf area development. Different concentrations of SA treatments had no significant effect on the scape height, scape diameter, inflorescence diameter, leaf width, floret number and leaf number. The treatment of 20-50 mg/L SA could improve the relative content of chlorophyll, the content of soluble protein, and soluble sugar, but MDA content was reduced at fullbloom stage. The treatment could delay the flower implement aging effectively, improve the ornamental quality of hydroponics in Hyacinthus orientalis.
