Abstract: To establish and verify the longitudinal tensile failure load(LTF)mechanical model of Larix gmelinii mature finger-jointed wood, the properties of earlywood(EW)and latewood(LW)were involved. In addition, it considered density as the major factor influencing Larix gmelinii mature wood mechanical properties. The verification results of the model showed that it was possible to build mechanical model of LTF based on different properties of EW and LW. The model of finger-jointed LTF was suitable for Larix gmelinii mature wood, which was verified by the specimen with the node geometric parameters including 27.5 mm of the length, 7.5 mm of the bottom, 2.25 mm of the top, and the angle of 95° between slope and bottom. However, it couldn’t predict the LTF of Larix gmelinii juvenile wood. In order to promote the model, it required more verification of various finger-joint figures.
