Abstract: This experiment studied the dwarfing effect of different concentration of paclobutrazol(PP333)and daminozide on two-year-old potted Osmanthus fragrans‘Rixiang Gui’. The result showed that in a proper concentration range, the dwarfing result of these two plant growth retardants at a high concentration was better than at a low concentration. In a proper concentration range, increment of new branches height was inhibited, the internodes length was shortened, at the same time, the ground diameter, root shoot ratio and root vigor were increased, also, the leaves turn dark green, and the chlorophyll contents was added. But too high concentration leads to phytotoxicity phenomena, bad to oramental value of ‘Rixiang Gui’. By using comprehensive evaluation method, a conclusion was drawn that 500 mg/L paclobutrazol and 3 000 mg/L daminozide treatments could effectively dwarf the growth of ‘Rixiang Gui’.
