Abstract: Using the methods of forced vibration, free vibration and sound velocity measurement, specimens of five species of wood have been examined for their dynamic modulus of elasticity and internal friction. The results obtained from these methods have been compared with each other, and the values of dynamic modulus of elasticity determined by these methods have also been compared with the values of elastic modulus of static bending measured by conventional method. Consequently, some mechanical properties of wood have been acquired, and it has been made clear that all these different methods are equivalent. The will contribute to some extent to the introduction of these methods to the research of mechanical properties of wood.
