Abstract: Investigations into 31 trees (5~2 years old; 4.0~30.0 centimeter diameter breast height) for Cunningkamia lanceolata revealed that foliage mass (dry weight) and area can be estimated from regression on sapwood crossectional area (cm2) at DBH (1.3m) more precisely than diameter breast height. The sapwood was a significantly better estimater than DBH for foliage mass and area.Equations are Y foliage mass= 0.1279+ 0.0591S1:3, and Y foliage area= 0.6796+ 0.3574S1:3
