Abstract: This paper deals with the geographic distribution, biological characteristics of Tapiscia sinensis and describes its culture technique. The results are summarized as follows. (1) r. sinensis is distributed mainly in middle or low mountain regions of subtropic, but very rare in tropic zones, ranging from 22?2/?0?2/ north latitude and 102?’~120?5’ east longitude. (2) The habitat conditions of T. sinensis are not bitterly cold in winter and not too kot in summer, with enough rainfall, higher air humidity, moderate sunlight and acid, moist loamy soil. (3) The growth and development of T. sinensis introduced from other places to Nanjing are well-developed. The mean height is 7.8m and mean diameter is 10.9cm at the age of seven. It first flowers and bears fruit at the age of six. many bear fruit at the age of nine.
