Abstract: Damingshan is situated in the middle of Guangxi nearby the tropic of cancer with the characteristic of south subtropic monsoon. The flora consists of 1836 species which belong to 199 families and 714 genera. Four new species are reported. The representative families of the flora are: Slyracaceae, Theaceae, Hamamelidaceae, Aquifoliaceae, Symlocaceae, Fagaceae, Magnoliaceae, Lauraceae, and so on. They are all basic elements of the Cathaysian flora.Phytogeographically, the elements cf the flora are relatively complicated. Tropic genera are commen, but most of them include only one or two species and a few individuals , they cannot really represent the feature of the flora. The subtropic elements are more aboundent, they are characteristic representatives of the flora. Gcollogically, Damingshan mountain range was uplifted by the Indochina mountain movement during triasic of mesozoic, From that time the flora was a part of Cathaysian flora.Of course, they have the same origin.
