Abstract: The 3508 cones and seeds of 64 sample trees belonging to 3 clonals (6421,47,33) were tested at Chinese fir seed orchard in Yangkou Forest Farm, Fujian Province in 1989. The results showed that Dichomeris sp. was the main cone pest, but the damage of Sinorsillus piliferus and Gleosporium sp. and Lophodermium sp. can set up discoloration of cones. Cone pests and discoloration conspicuously affected the cone weight, seed weight, thousand- seed weight and produced seed rate each 100 cones (avarage descent 20. 9%-73. 7%). But they don’t have any conspicuous effect on germination value and woody value of seeds.
