Abstract: Since the middle of 1960s, differential interference contrast microscopy has been put into operation as a new type of microscopy. It is a microscopy with some advantageous functions as compared with other light microscopies. This article recommended the fundamental principles, installation , characteristics of differential interference contrast microscopy and its applicaltion to forestry research with examples.
