Abstract

As the driving force of the carbon cycle, net primary productivity(NPP)is not only one of basic quantitative characteristics in earth’s ecosystems, but also the main factor to determine the carbon source, sink and the regulation of ecological processes. Based on RIA technology, normalized differential vegetation index(NDVI)of MODIS, meteorological and vegetation data of China were collected as input parameters of CASA, an online estimation and query system of vegetation net primary productivity of China(EQSVNC)was developed for the first time to full in the blank of web-platform of NPP query and estimation in China. The EQSVNC took advantage of the C# language and IDL language, and achieved the following functions: online query, estimation, statistics, export of mapping and printing thematic map of Chinese vegetation net primary productivity, and management of users. The EQSVNC not only can conveniently and effectively meet many users’ demands for estimating and querying Chinese vegetation net primary productivity, but also provide a scientific data-sharing web-platform for scientific researchers and policy makers.
