Abstract: It is a fundamental technique for waste reutilization and its pollution control by development of argricultural or forestry wastes into plant growing substrates. This paper reviewed development of wastes fermentation technology, substrates formulation technology, moisture and nutrients contents detection and controlling technology. These studies have shown that researches were mainly focused on the first two aspects, with a severe shortage on the third. In order to further promote development of the waste reutilization and form the healthy industry, these aspects, such as the technology upgrading of fermentation and formulation, the interaction and relationships of substrate-plant-environment, systematic monitoring and controlling of water and fertilizer information, should be strenghthened.
