Abstract: Volatile components of the buds and flowers of Rhododendron championae were analyzed by HS-SPME-GC-MS for the first time, and the changes of flora fragrance components were discussed. The results showed that 23 kinds of volatile components were indentified from both the buds and flowers, and six components existed in both samples. The main components at the bud stage were alkenes, which accounted for 53.39%. The main components at the flower stage were terpenoids, which accounted for 64.09%. In all volatile components, the contents of 1,6-cyclodecadiene, 1-methyl-5-methylene-8-(1-methylethyl)-, [s-(E,E)]-in buds(39.76%)and 1,3,6-octatriene, 3,7-dimethyl-in flowers(36.21%)were the highest in the bud stage and florescence, respectively. Fora fragrance components of R. championae were comfortable to people, which were suitable in landscaping.
