Abstract: 【Objective】 Estimating the value of wetland ecosystem services can provide guidance for the protection, restoration and sustainable development of wetland and be used as a reference for the ecological value accounting in Chongming County. 【Method】Based on the second Shanghai wetland survey(2011-2013), wetlands in Chongming County were classified as three categories including 10 types in total. Wetland ecosystem services were divided into 4 types including 13 major evaluation parameters according to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. 【Result】The total value of wetland ecosystem services was evaluated to be 12.413 billion Yuan. Among various type of wetlands, coastal wetlands had the greatest value of 5.153 billion Yuan. Artificial wetlands and marsh had 2.474 and 0.261 billion Yuan, respectively. Regulating services(4.825 billion Yuan)and supporting services(4.381 billion Yuan)were the major wetland ecosystem service compared to the provisioning services(2.257 billion Yuan)and cultural services(0.950 billion Yuan)in Chongming. 【Conclusion】Therefore, rational and efficient utilization of wetland resources could increase the total value of wetland ecosystem services under the principle of priority protection.
