In welding bandsaw ends, the joint and the material near it are heated and metallographically affected. Hence, changes in structures and properties take place and the mechanical properties deteriorate to a certain extent.This paper makes a survey of the mechanical properties of the joint weld resulted from different welding processes, gives an analysis of the metallography of the weld, explains the causes of the decrease of strength in the joints and raises some suggestions with regard to increasing the strength of the joint and improving welding techniques.
