Abstract: This paper deals with the use of 2,3,5-Triphenyl Tetrazolium Chloride (TTC) for the test of pollen germinating capacity of conifers and broad-leaved trees. Results of the test show that the most effective concentration of the chemical for the test is 0.5% and the time of treatment is between 12-18 hours. The pollen germination rate of most conifers after the test is over 80%. Although this rate is slightly lower than that of the pollens treated by the artificial medium, it is far more convenient and economical to use TTC in the pollen germination test.-119-
