HIGH TEMPERATURE DRYING OF PINUS MASSONIANA BOARDS

Abstract

Tests of high temperature drying of Pinus Massoniana boards with 5 cm thickness have been made and a new schedule for drying has been worked out. Compared with the old schedule, the preheating time in the new schedule has shortened by more than one hour and the temperatures in the new schedule during the whole drying period have raised by 3℃ on the average. Test results show that with this new schedule, rate of drying has been raised and good quality of drying ensured. Moreover, discussions have also been made on the mechanism of high temperature drying of Pinus Massoniana wood in general.
