Abstract

Picea and abies forests in Taohe forest region have been investigated in order to find out the laws governing their structure, growth, rejuvenation and succession. Using three different kinds of calculation and taking economic and natural conditions into account, a reasonable selective cutting recycle of 25 years has been worked out. Technical indexes of selective cutting intensity, diameter class, and amount have also been subsequently calculated. According to the appraisal made, these indexes conform to reality and can be put into use.
