NEW TAXA AND NEW RECORDS OF BAMBUSOIDEAE IN JIANGSU PROVINCE

Abstract: Bamboo is one of the most important resource of forest production, mangement and utilization. But for a long time, few species of bamboo have been made use of in forestry practice. Some species are still unknown to the public, while some are taxonomically in confusion.In the last two years, the authors has made forest investigation all over the province with the assistance of some students, and learned the total number of species of their distribution in the province. There are 10 genera and 55 species of natural and cultivated bamboo, including some variants in this paper, the authors report 2 new species and 18 new records, latin descriptions, illustrations and discussions are given separately.
