Abstract

Spray blending is a important way used in resin application. Therefore, both the size and the distribution of resin could effect directly the quality of blending. This study attempts to explain resin distribution on the flakes with theory and provide theoretical basis for raising the quality of blending by observing and calculating the atomization area, the average diameter of resin droplet, the amount of resin coverage and so on.This article considers that: ?Only resin droplets in inside ring of atomization circle are profitable because of the uniformity of resin drops and high distribution density. ② Smaller resin droplets may not mean better blending quality, because when resin droplets is smaller than the surface grooves (cell cavity and some cracks) blending quality will be lowered. In general it should be controlled that resin droplets must be larger than the width of the wood surface grooves.
