A TAXONOMIC STUDY OF THE GENUS CAMELLIA LINN. IN ZHEJIANG

Abstract

This paper is a taxonomic study of the genus Camellia Linn. in Zhejiang, in which 15 species, 1 variety and 3 new forms are recorded. The three new forms are Camellia brevistyla (Hayata) Cohen Stuart rubida f. nov, C. cheki-ang-oleosa Hu tanglii f. nov. and C. trichoclada (Rehd.) Chien leucantha f. nov.Moreover, 3 cultivated species are recorded for the first time in Zhejiang, and 6 Latin names of species are emended. Also given are an index to species and an enumeration including the revision, ecological conditions, distributions, and uses of every taxon.
