Abstract: A chemical activator which has a significant effect on the activated process of pine charcoal was studied in this experiment. The result of the orthogonal experiment showed that the pine charcoal treated with a chemical solution has a very remarkable effect on the decoloring power of prepared activated carbon. The transmissivity of the decolored caramel solution thus produced was 96.5%, and the power to decolor 0.15% methylene blue solution was 22ml/0.1g carbon.
