ON THE LAND EVALUATION FOR PRODUCTION FORESTRY

Abstract: The use of land has always been the most important decisionmaking in forest management planning. Recently, the distinctive features of forest land use and the awareness of forest multiple functions lead to an increasing need, in our country, to develope procedures and techniques for evaluating alternative plans. The immediate need is to set off an animated discussion on this subject.Based on the field works in South China, several basic concepts for land evaluation for production forestry are discussed.
