Abstract: In present time, the application of computer in the production management in timber yards is still in a single-item phase of data processing, dealing with day-to-day timber arrival, stocking and delivery. This paper introduces a new software for the timber yard production management. The software, in addition to the data processing and table-making of daily single-item figures mentioned above, can arrive obtain the followings: 1. tree-to-log rate in tree bucking; 2 . the stock volume of log according to storage section, timber species, state alloted timber and tending felling timber, economic timber and non-economic timber; 3. timber supply according to contracts and actual imp-Iement; 4 . various types of report forms of management; 5 . the results of daily total, monthly accumulation and yearly accumulation of different types of timber volume and money amount. In addition, the software has the function of screen showing and printing all kinds of integrative data and production progress graph, thus directing production, assisting policy-making and management.
