A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE MACROCENTRUS RESINELLAE LINNAEUS

Abstract: Macroccnlus resinellac is an important natural enemy of i i.rreirieo rubella. It is widely distributed in Cnina. There arc four generations a year in Jiangsu province. The pest hibernates in the egg within its host. The adult appeals at the beginning or in the middle of May. A female can lay 30-40 eggs. The egg stage is about 6 days, the larva stage about 15 days and pupa 20-30 days to complete its development. The longivity of adult is about 5-7 day. This paper reports the bionomics of this insect.
