IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF A DIBASIC RESIN ACID IN OLEORESIN OF PINUS MERKUSⅡ FROM CHINA

Abstract: The acidic fraction of Oleoresin of Pinus merkusii De Vriese from Hai Nan island in China contains up to 13% of a dibasic resin acid. The dibasic acid has been isolated by column chromatographic method and its structure has been identified, It is 13 β-Labden-8(17)-oic acid-15,19 (i.e. mercusic acid). The isolated dibasic acid has been uscd as external standard sample in GC quantitative anylysis.
