Abstract: Root-knot nematodes are serious on the London planetree in Qingdao. Perineal pattern of this nematode has fine close spaces, the whole pattern appears much round and striae in dorso and ventro lateral areas are slightly wavy and show a zig-zag curve. Stylet length is I7μm, stylet robust distinctly sets off from shaft , Among the host differentials , tobacco , tomato and watermelon can be greatly affected while pepper is lightly galled. No infection has been foud on peanut and cotton. These characteristics have the similarty of Meloidogyne platani in the description of root- knot nematode on American planetree made by Hedwig Hirschmann in 1982. So we have identified that root-knot nematode of London planetree in Qingdao belongs to Meloidogyne plantani Hirschmann.
