STUDIES ON THE MAIN WILD AUTUMN-COLOR TREES IN ZHEJIAN PROVINCE

Abstract: Autumn-color-tree is very important both in a large and a small scale landscape. After investigating it for years, the author found that there are more than 40 spp. in Zhejiang. 13 of them are important and remain in the wild except several spp. which are cultivated. They are. Cercidiphyllum japonicum, Liquidambar formosana, Cotinus coggygria var. pubescens, Pistacia chinensis, Toxicodendron succedaneum, Euonymus carnosus, Acer mono, A. elegantulum, A. oliraceum, A. pubipalmatum, A. sinopurpurascens, Nyssa sinensis, Dendro-benthamia japonica.The auther also described the habit, character , distribution, habitat , ecological conditions, ornamental values of every sp. and ideas of exploitation and utilization of these trees.
