Abstract

The bending capacity and the steam softening treatment condition of P. stenoptera and C. tricuspidata are discussed in this paper. It turns out that the bending capacity of P. stenofera and C. trienspidaata is one-eleven point sixth and one-six peint seventh respectively. The wood can be used for common bent wood production. The water content and the temperature of the wood obviously affect its plastic deformation parallel to the grain and its modulus of elasticity. Under the same steaming condition, C. tricnspidata shows a greater plastic deformation and modulus of elasticity than P. atenoptera.
