Based on experiments. the authors have devised and editing system of different tape widths by assembling 12. 7 mm (1/2 in. ) videocassette recoder with the 19 mm (3/4 in. ) U-matic recodrer. Results indicate that not only 19mm but also 12. 7mm videocassette tapes can be used in the playing terminal of system. Therefore the playing terminal has the exchange function and is easy to operate.
