Abstract: This paper deals with the comparison of anatomic features in juvenile wood of three pines. The study shows that: (1) slash pine is proved a noted resin tapping tree because of its biggest and most abundant resin canals; (2) masson pine is regarded as the strongest because of its longest tracheids smallest microfibril angle and largest specific gravity; (3) owing to its fastest growth rate and smallest proportion of late wood, loblolly pine is good for pulping wood.
