At the end of 1987, we began to rear for Rana spnnosa at the Jiangshi reserve in Shaowu city, Fujian Province. In August 1988, we tried to hatch the spawn with the artificial methods. At the first, the hatching rate was only about 30% and was lower than the natural one (about 50%). For raising the hatching rate, we adopted the lentic hatching and lotic hatching, at the same time we hatched the spawn under the conditions of indoor and outdoor. On the base of continuously improving the hatching habitat and the artificial management methods, the hatching rate has been raised 70% or higher now. This article reports our research results.
