Based on the 12yearold data of provenance tests of masson pine (Pinus massoniana Lamb.) in wood property at 4 test locations, significant variations of the effects of provenances, test locations and provenance × location interactions were found in specific gravity (SG) and tracheid length (TL). It was showed that there was a increasing trend in SG of provenances from the southwest to the northeast of the range. According to the variations of SG, TL and stem volume (V) in different levels, V may be regarded as the most important in provenance selection for pulpwood; V and wood property possess the same importance in individual selection within provenances.
