In this acticle were published the technology of manufacture and theory of forming porosity of granular activated carbon by application of combination to the theory of activation with gas activator and with thd theory of forming porosity of porous graphite materials．　Its special characters are as follows 1) In the masses to add the mass for forming porosity; 2) To use the calcining method to activation, but with out adding the activator. It is a new method and first publication in China for manufacturing granular activated carbon from wood charcoal. The product by this method has good properties. 
