Abstract: This paper describes tempreature field, drying speed, compress rate and specific gravity, and investigates effects of drying technological parameters on drying quality, static bending strengh, surface hardenedness and dimensional stability in pressdrying of Chinese fir. The experimental results show that drying time can be shortened greatly, and material mechanicstrength can be increased. The material is well_protected from honeycomb cracks and maintains drying quality when stepdrying is used during drying process, and pressure is reduced continuously during the end of the period.
