Wood tracheid morphological features and their radial variation of Korean spruce plantations are studied and compared with those of natural forest. The results are as follows: (1)The radial variation patterns of the tracheid morphological featues of the wood from plantation arc respectively similar to those from natural stand. (2) Based on the radial variation patterns, the mature age of wood from plantation is determined to be about 19 years.　It is ten years earlier than that from natural forest.(3)There are no significant differences in wood tracheid length and ratio of double wall thickness to lumen between plantation and natural forest.
