The flora of Wanmulin Natural Reserve of Fujian Province， protected for nearly 600 years， has succeeded to a highly diversified and stable communities which contained evergreen broadleaf forests， Masson pine forests and secondary forests of Castanopsis This paper presented the cluster and principle canonical analysis （PCA） on the base of the importance value of community components The results were as follows: the pioneer community of the typical succession series was Masson pine forest （in barren sites along the ridges of the mountain） and secondary forest of Castanopsis （cut over areas） At the midand later period of succession， forest of Castanopsis carlesii and C　fargesii appeared The climax vegetation was evergreen broadleaf forest of Castanopsis Later climax community which major components were broadleaf forests of Cinnamomum chekiangense of Lauraceae in partial areas with favorite conditions While the community of Altingia gracilipes  was the transitional stage in this area The formulation and succession trend of Tsoongiodendron odorum were also discussed．
