Abstract: Three sibling species, Monochamus alternatus Hope, M. urussovi Fischer and M. sutor Linnaeus were analysed by using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method. The result indicated that three primers were evident to separate those three sibling species. Whereas those in different stages of same species were almost of no difference. DNA pured from soaked and live individuals of cerambycid larvae for RAPD reactions using several primers resulted in identical RAPD fingerprints. Consequently, it is an available method newly provided by the authors for identification of sibling cerambycid species, especially for cerambycid larvae.
