Abstract

The wood tracheid morphological features and their radial wariations of Korean spruce plantations from 3 plots on different indexes are studied. The results are as follows: (1) The radial variation patterns of the tracheid morphological features of the wood from 3 plots are respectively similar. (2) Based on the radial variation patterns, there are no obvious differences in the mature ages of wood from 3 plots. It is determined to be about 17~20 years. (3) The tracheid length, the tracheid length_width ratio and the ratio of double wall thickness to lumen are increased as the site index is increased.
