The frequently occuring floods in Jiangsu province have greatly restricted or influenced the economic development and the safty of society and environment. The forest plays an important rule in water and soil conservation,enbankment protection and flood prevention. It is urgent to build flood prevention and calamity reduction ecological protection system through planting and carring on major forestry ecological projects. It is also suggested that administration should pay important attention to the forestry resources and technology.
