Abstract

The competition among dominant species of Betula luminifera forests at Weiming, in Fujian province, has been discussed. The results show that Betula luminifera competes with Castanea henryi, Liquidambar fomosana, Alnipyhllum fortunei. But relative stability balance exists in Betula luminifera and Castanea henrv or Betula luminifera and Castanopsis fargesii . In competition with other accompanying species, the Betula luminifera is a predominant tree at present.
