Abstract: This paper deals with the virtues and defects by comparing the traditional culture pattern with the modern one in culture species, diet culture management and fishing method, etc. Results show that the traditional culture pattern is a polyculture with various species and standards in the pond, which can achieve a high yield by fishing and tending in turn. But because a lot of organic fertility, raw material diet and grass are put into the pond, the pond becomes silted up severely, which will result in the outbreak of the diseases; also because the aquatic products differ in standards, and can not meet the needs of the market. The mono - culture pattern is a single culture pattern with feeding high - quality diet and producing high - quality aquatic products.
