Abstract

Odentoschisma is one of the genera of Cephaloziaceae. About 30 species of the genus was published in the world. Stephanii first reported O. grosseverrucosum Steph. from China in 1908. In 1934, Horikawa reported O. cavifolium Steph. , O. speciosum Horick. and O. grosseverrucosum Steph. from Taiwan province. Later Hattori (1952), Kamimura(1952), Lai Mingzhou(1976) and In- oue(1981) all reported the same 3 species from Taiwan province. In 1965, Chen and Wu reported O. denudatum (Nees)Dum. from Anhui Province. Li Xingjiang also reported this species from Fujian provincies in 1986. O. speciosum Horick. was referred to Notascyphus lutescens ( Lehm. et Lindb. ) Mitt, by Hattori in 1948, and O. cavifolium Steph. was referred to O. denudatum (Nees)Dum. . So it is actually that there are only two species of the genus Odentoschisma in China on the basis of litera- ture citations. In the present study, we discovered that O. sphagni (Dicks. ) Dum. also distributing in Sichuan provinces. So three species of Odentoschisma are recognized for China. O. sphagni (Dicks. ) Dum. is new for China.
